National Webinar for Denmark on the OpenAIRE FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot

  • 28 Sep 2016
  • 13:00 - 14:00
  • On-line

Are you working on research support or Open Access tasks at a Danish research institution? The Open Access post-grant publications arising from finished FP7 projects where your institution is involved in as coordinator or as a partner could be eligible for funding under the EC FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot.

Join the OpenAIRE webinar to learn more about the progress of this post-grant funding initiative in Denmark and the new funding workflows that have recently been implemented (registration link at the bottom of this page).

The European Commission launched the FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot last year, to fund Open Access publishing fees for publications arising from finished FP7 projects through the OpenAIRE project. This Pilot provides funding for Open Access Article and Book Processing Charges (APCs/BPCs) for FP7 projects up to two years after their end-date. This webinar will provide an update on the results achieved so far.

At the end of August 2016, close to 550 funding requests have already been granted by this funding initiative to researchers and projects across Europe and beyond, see the most recent progress report here...

However, the number of Open Access publications funded for institutions in Denmark remains rather low when compared to other countries in Scandinavia.

This webinar will describe the Pilot’s eligibility requirements and look into the procedure for submitting funding requests. Special emphasis will be made on the pre-payment agreements with publishers that have recently started its implementation.

The webinar will be led by Pablo de Castro, from the Association of European Research Libraries (LIBER), which coordinates this FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot, and will have two parts. The first part will address the following topics:

  • How the FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot works;
  • How organizations are working with LIBER and OpenAIRE in order to support the Pilot implementation;
  • How to use the OpenAIRE system for collecting and processing funding requests for Open Access publishing fees.
  • Results for this FP7 Post-Grant Open Access Pilot fifteen months after its launch

The second part of the webinar will be a Q&A session where any questions about this FP7 post-grant Open Access publishing funds pilot and its progress will be answered.
